Heard this was a super walk and it did not disappoint. The trip from Edinburgh was selected to co-inside with a sunny day and this one could not be better. This was to be the first Mountain experience for our King of Numpties (Alan) as he is affectionately known .... it may be his last. To be fair he did not moan for the first 2 minutes however then came the climb. Chuckly Bear (Robert) and myself (Dunny) did our best to coax Al up the path. We were led by Alfie the Border Terrier who thoroughly enjoyed the climb (he appreciated the stream that ran almost the full route. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to reach the summit and the views from the top were stunning. The temperature by midday was about 27 C. I'm sure Al really did enjoy it although he did mention that it would have been easier to buy a postcard. It was a bit easier going down although caution had to be taken. Good to have a car park at the bottom and only a 1/2 mile to the lovely little pub for a refreshing lager shandy.
