short but cracking day, lost my phone, help ?

Route: Tom a' Chòinich & Toll Creagach, Glen Affric

Munros: Toll Creagach, Tom a' Chòinich

Date walked: 10/09/2022

Time taken: 4.5 hours

Distance: 16.8km

Ascent: 1095m

Simple report but first thing to say, lost my iPhone 12 max coming off Toll C, no path so no chance I don't think, of finding it. Somewhere on the bottom half of the decent to the landrover track and my line was just to the left (east) of the dam, by about 75m or so. Photos therefore non-existent.
The new car park is excellent and has a path (not marked on OS Maps) up behind the car park that takes you to the marked landrover track, there's a signpost there.
Great track, makes for fast walking and when you reach a dam (assuming you're going clockwise, which would be my super strong advice) the path then becomes a more typical part bog part path trawl in. Reach the well marked (on maps) Allt and there is a wee cairn20m on the other side, maybe even 10m, marking the turn up the hill. The burn is a great place to drink a bottle and refill before heading up, no real alternatives for water once you leave the side of the Allt. About 4.45km to here from the car park.
Great path up, we were cruising (not a surprise as our last outing was Fisherfield with much bigger bags), had dog out with us and he was having a ball. 2hrs 20mins to the top, 7.5km. Weather better than forecast, hardly a cloud in the sky, just stellar.
It's an easy drop off to the bealach and only down to 880m or so so that leaves limited ascent which is nice - easy but long drag up the plateau to Toll C, 11km now covered and 3hrs 15mins, quite tidy. Met a nice chap at the top, he was just heading off and we caught him up as we did a wee jog down the hill, very very pleasant and that kept the midges (there were a good few around at the summit) away. Checked bearings on my phone a couple of times as we wanted to drop down onto the wee dam rather than the bog path, so know I had my phone much of the way down and it must have popped out when I bounced/occasionally slithered in the heather on the last km (or less) to the path. Got to the landrover track, dog went for a swim and I went "oh flunk". Had a chat with my son and agreed almost pointless to try to retrace steps or wait for the chap behind us. Stranger things have happened but decided to let the rope go and head home.
Bit of a shame, those were #278 and 279 for us, we plan to compleat on Beinn na Lap next Saturday, that phone had seen plenty of kms !
