So, some said I was mad attempting a hill walk after my University Graduation Ball the night before. BUT! I am a trooper and decided to still make the climb up Ben Vane on a Sunday afternoon with my Boyfriend and his sister as we had planned for weeks I thought it would be a better way to spend the day than sitting inside feeling sorry for myself after a heavy night.
It was a beautiful day with the sun blazing in the sky These days are the best and I would have been a fool to miss it! Arriving at Inveruglas car park we made sure to plaster ourselves in sun cream and put on our shades

The three of us set off for Ben Vane all raring to go and looking forward to the challenge! It was nice to return on a sunnier, and clearer day of which I could actually see the top of Ben Vorlich this time! We made our way up the boggy, grassy first section of Vane and started to feel peckish and thirsty so we stopped off for an early snack on some of the rocks there.

I appreciated the fuel that this stop off gave me as I felt as weak as a kitten already after my mental night the night before!
Ross had climbed Ben Vane before a couple of years ago, but it was Mhairi and I's first time and we were just loving the variety that Vane provided with the little scrambly bits and the rockiness of the hill

We took our time this day given my fragile state and also took advantage of all the photo opportunities that were presented to us!

... you wouldn't believe how many times this took to get them right!!! We were having so much fun!!
Nearer the top I began to really struggle as I was just so tired and lacked the energy required. So, I decided to take a little nap at the summit in the sunshine while Mhairi and Ross had another bite to eat

We then took loads more photos and explored the area

Amazing day! And great for everyone and anyone. The views were outstanding and well worth the trek up! I would recommend not going hillwalking when hungover though
