Cairngorms Day 2

Munros: Mullach Clach a' Bhlàir, Sgòr Gaoith

Date walked: 13/07/2011

Time taken: 6.5 hours

Distance: 25.9km

Ascent: 1162m

Woke up feeling nice and refreshed after an exellents nights sleep....I could not reccomend the campsite more, very quite loads and loads of space and the showers were exellents as you have an actual cubical and room to dry and change in rather than freezing your butt off as soon as the shower goes off.

Anyway...got some breakfast down me and packed up and jumped in the car. Order of the day Mullach Clach a'Bhlair & Sgor Gaoith.

Arrived at the car park about 10ish and it was fairly empty, just a few other walkers not busy at all.

Path leads along the road and then turns to climb up through a small forest at first then up, fairly easy going just stopping a few times to have a look at all the aircraft flying around that were there filming scenes from the Batman 3 which i would find out tomorrow.

Made it up to Carn Ban Mor and then turned north for Sgor Gaoith.

As i was walking up I knew the views were going to be spectacular. Reached the summit and wasn't disappointed.....Awesome!! Hung out here and had my lunch for a good wee while just taking in the sights.

Headed due south from here as the crow fly's towards Mullach Clach a Bhalir. This did mean walking through some peaty/boggy terrain and when I got down to the little stream I had to leap across it maybe 7-8 times :D Soon though i joined a road much to my disappointment and headed for the top. I met a group of walkers here and we swapped cameras for snaps.

Headed down the road, bit of a slog and knees but was soon down.

Turned north along a small path along side the river and after spending a little time finding the best place to cross a couple of little streams which had more water than normal I was soon back at the car.
