Schiehallion Rockies

A nice day when we started off, but unfortunately weather moved in before we reached the summit. I found the climb up on to the ridge challenging. It's quite steep without much respite, but that's the terrain I always struggle on as I'm recovering from a back injury. The ridge is much less of an incline, but most of it is a large boulder field (about last 50 mins), which personally I really enjoyed traversing, just concentrate on you footing as it's easy to slip; I use walking poles which I found helped enourmously in keeping me upright. About 15 mins from the summit the clouds moved in and the snow started (and it was very windy) so I can't comment on the views, as I didn't see much, but can imagine they would be spectacular as there isn't another hill nearby. Up to the boulder field the quality of the path is excellent. All in a great days climbing.
