Munros: Càrn nan Gobhar (Strathfarrar), Sgùrr a' Choire Ghlais, Sgùrr Fhuar-thuill, Sgùrr na Ruaidhe
Date walked: 27/05/2012
Time taken: 9 hours
Distance: 20.2km
Ascent: 1578m
gates open at 9am we were told that they were closed at 7pm((dad said to the gatekeeper "we will be back long before that") famous last words)
parked at the large grassy area and headed off
a great walk beautiful views but in hindsight was just to hot (we were well prepared with fluids/suntan cream etc & plenty of lovely cold burns topup the water bottles in )
strangest sight(sorry no pics) groups of 15/20 deer up on other hills all just lying on snow patches to cool down(this really should have told us humans that it was going to be hot )
i would really recommend the you either drop off a bike where you come to estate road as you come down or if you are lucky enough have a vehicle at each end (we were so happy when a very kind man gave us a lift the final 3-4k back to our car otherwise i think we may have been lock in the estate for the night)
even if you are not a walker i would recommend a vist to glen strathfarrar it is one of the most beautiful well maintained areas i have been to
