My first report on Walkhighlands,: Me and my hillwalking buddy Davy decided on a trip to Blair Atholl on Saturday to do one of the 5 munros there and we decided to do Carn a'Chlamain it was Davy's second attempt at this as the first time was in a blizzard and had to turn back, we took our bikes as he said it was a long walk in (so glad we did)we arrived about 9.30 and the car park was pretty empty as you would expect at that time of the morning once kitted up we set off around tenwe arrived at marble lodge in not a bad time and stopped for a wee drink and admire the opening views

the hills beckon
after another couple of miles we turned off the track to start up the hill and lock our bikes up we put them against the fence at this small holding just as we were about to lock them up a lovely lady was putting her horses out and shouted us over to say if we locked our bikes there they would be all chewed up by the time we got back as the horses liked a bit of bike now and then to chew on and she suggested a better place where they couldn't eat them, anyway we started the steep initial climb the path was so clear and Davy informed me it went all the way to the top, the views as we climbed were amazing as always,

we made pretty good time and soon our goal was in sight

as we got higher the wind really picked up and is got really cold so it was on with the jacket and gloves, on the col it was blowing a gale and it was freezing but we climbed on and reached the summit

a big thank to the fellow hillwalker who took our photo, down below we could see plenty more coming up so we decided to head down

more hillwalkers on the summit bid
we made good time getting back to the bikes it was a relief to see the horses eating the grass and our bikes in one piece the ride back was good despite the legs being a bit sore all in all though it was a great day out,and look forward to doing the other 4 soon.
