Cockburn Law and Edin's Hall broch, Abbey St Bathans

A circular walk with a straightforward ascent of Cockburn Law which offers excellent views over the surrounding Borders countryside and across to the Cheviots. The walk visits the remains of a rare lowland iron-age broch, and the return follows Whiteadder Water before crossing it at the Elba suspension footbridge over a gorge. This area has some of the oldest surviving woodland in the Borders.
