Blà Bheinn - sometimes anglicised to Blaven - stands apart from the rest of the Cuillin Ridge on Skye. Towering magnificently above Loch Slapin and with its hidden side even more spectacular, it is one of the finest mountains in Britain as well as one of the best viewpoints imaginable.

Other routes and challenges

A classic alternative route is via the lengthy South Ridge which sweeps down towards Camasunary and offers stunning views throughout. Although the ridge itself is without any scrambling difficulty, it leads to the South Top, and descending from this to the bealach connecting with the main, north summit does involve a short but testing scrambling descent.

The Clach Glas - Blà Bheinn traverse is a classic route, but it is a rock-climb - graded 'Difficult', and beyond the scope of Walkhighlands' descriptions.
