This is the highest of several Munros by the name of Geal Chàrn. A very remote peak, it is in the centre of a great ridge between Ben Alder and the Loch Laggan area; its finest feature is the Lancet Edge, a dramatic ridge pluging down to Culra.

Other routes and challenges
The Lancet Edge (or east ridge of Sgòr Iutharn) provides the finest route up the mountain - an airy but reasonably straightforward scramble. The only disadvantage for those looking to bag the Munros is that it leads up to the central part of the ridge - with other peaks to bag in both directions.
An alternative approach to the whole ridge of four Munros is from Luiblea near Moy Lodge on the A86 to the north.
The whole area is ideal for remote cross-country backpacking expeditions. One idea is to undertake a traverse from Corrour Station to Dalwhinnie Station - with plenty of options for Munros to include.
