Daily avalanche forecasts to begin for winter season

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service will begin daily forecasts from tomorrow, Friday 14th December for the 2018-19 winter season.

The SAIS issues separate forecasts for six regions – North and South Cairngorms, Lochaber, Glencoe, Creag Meagaidh and Torridon.

All those heading to the winter mountains need to learn about and understand avalanche risk. 90% of avalanche victims trigger their own avalanche.

The forecasts are available on the SAIS website.
