Although much of this sheeting has been replaced over the years a professional survey has just been carried out on the building and the Mountain Bothies Association (MBA) has been advised that the bothy is unsafe for public use.<\/p>\n<p>The bothy, which serves as an entry point for <a href=\"\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/cairngorms\/ben-alder.shtml\">Ben Alder<\/a> and other surrounding hills such as <a href=\"\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/cairngorms\/aonach-beag.shtml\">Aonach Beag<\/a>, has therefore been closed with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>The MBA says that discussions are continuing with regards the future of the building but it is most likely it will need to be entirely demolished and a new bothy built in its stead.<\/p>\n<p>Notices will be placed on the building as soon as volunteers from the MBA are able to get them there.
