{"id":10505,"date":"2014-03-19T06:07:22","date_gmt":"2014-03-19T06:07:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/?p=10505"},"modified":"2014-03-20T14:13:00","modified_gmt":"2014-03-20T14:13:00","slug":"flytipping-may-force-closure-of-tyrebagger-car-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/flytipping-may-force-closure-of-tyrebagger-car-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Flytipping may force closure of Tyrebagger car park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div id=\"attachment_10506\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10506\" src=\"\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/tyrebaggerhill.jpg\" alt=\"Tyrebagger Hill viewing tower\" width=\"310\" height=\"207\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/tyrebaggerhill.jpg 310w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/tyrebaggerhill-200x134.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 310px) 100vw, 310px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10506\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tyrebagger Hill viewing tower<\/p><\/div>Forestry Commission Scotland&apos;s Aberdeenshire team is appealing to members of the public to help keep a popular walker&apos;s car park open, by reporting incidents of fly tipping.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Cadle, the Recreation Forester in the area, said, &#8220;Over the last month we have had repeated dumping of fly tipped material in our <a href=\"\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/aberdeenshire\/kirkhill-woods.shtml\">Tyrebagger<\/a> car park \u2013 in total about 6 tipper loads of house-hold and building trade waste.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have reported it to Police Scotland and they are already following up on leads, and we are also passing them CCTV camera pictures of dumpers at the site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery time that we go in to clean this up it takes our staff away from more positive works, such as trail building but is also costs up to \u00a3500 &#8211; money that we should be spending elsewhere to help improve the forest experience for visitors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t afford that sort of clean up cost and unless this antisocial behaviour is stopped we might have to think about closing the car park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Aberdeenshire team is asking anyone who sees waste being dumped at Tyrebagger &#8211; or anywhere else \u2013 to report it to the police via the 101 number and to also call dumb dumpers on 0845 2304090.<\/p>\n<p>As well as the walk through <a href=\"\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/aberdeenshire\/kirkhill-woods.shtml\">Kirkhill Forest and Tyrebagger Hill<\/a> there is also the <a href=\"\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/aberdeenshire\/elrick-hill.shtml\">Tyrebagger Sculpture and Elrick Hill<\/a> walk nearby.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Forestry Commission Scotland&apos;s Aberdeenshire team is appealing to members of the public to help keep a popular walker&apos;s car park open, by reporting incidents of fly tipping.
