Isle of Luing<\/h3>\n

\nCameron’s journey started at the picturesque former quarrying village of Cullipool on the Isle of Luing. He followed a walk around the coastline of the island past the quarries – this route is featured on Walkhighlands as our Isle of Luing and the Slate Quarries<\/a> route.<\/p>\n

Ellenabeich, Isle of Seil<\/h3>\n

\"Seil\"<\/a>
\nOn the Isle of Seil, Cameron climbed up behind Ellenabeich to the dramatic coastline with spectacular views over towards the Isle of Mull<\/a>. You can reach the same place by following the Ellenabeich hillwalk<\/a> route.<\/p>\n

Tirefour broch, Isle of Lismore<\/h3>\n

\nCameron’s next stop was on the beautiful and fertile Isle of Lismore<\/a>, where we feature several enjoyable walks. The programme featured the dramatic Tirefour Broch, which can be visited on walks from either Point<\/a> or Achnacroish<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clach Thoull, Port Appin<\/h3>\n

\nIn the company of a geologist, Cameron followed the easy walk along the raised beach from Port Appin to the great rock arch of Clach Thoull<\/a> – once a coastal arch before the sea level fell.<\/p>\n

Taigh Seumas A’ ghlinne, Glen Duror<\/h3>\n

\"duror\"<\/a>
\nCameron related the story of the Appin murder, visiting the site which is reached by a short signposted stroll up from a car park west of Ballachulish. This isn’t enough for a walk to be a Walkhighlands route, but we do instead feature the forest walk up through the woods of Glen Duror to visit Taigh Seumas A’ ghlinne<\/a>. This was once the home of James of the Glen who was wrongly hanged for the murder; today it is a bothy.<\/p>\n

Beinn a’ Chrulaiste, Glencoe<\/h3>\n

\nCameron climbed Beinn a’ Chrulaiste<\/a> to enjoy the superlative views over Buachaille Etive Mor and Glencoe.<\/p>\n

Corran Ferry, Ardgour<\/h3>\n

\nCameron crossed the Corran Ferry to reach Ardgour; we feature a short circular walk<\/a> from the ferry jetty.<\/p>\n

Castle Tioram, near Acharacle<\/h3>\n

\"tioram\"<\/a>
\nAfter visiting Ceilidh King Fergie MacDonald, Cameron headed to one of Scotland’s most romantic ruined castles, Castle Tioram. He followed the dramatic Castle Tioram Silver walk circuit<\/a> (“the most sensational short walk in Scotland”) which follows an old coast path before climbing back via the remains of a deserted village.<\/p>\n

Arisaig beaches<\/h3>\n

\"arisaig\"<\/a>
\nFrom Arisaig Cameron took out his packraft (see this article on packrafting<\/a>) and explored the coastline, visiting a beautiful and remote sandy bay. Walkhighlands features a walk from Arisaig to the beautiful beach at Port nam Murrach<\/a>.<\/p>\n
