<\/a>Corrour Station House<\/p><\/div> Remote Corrour Station House, on the West Highland Line, is to re-open this Friday as a Scottish Youth Hostel Association hostel. Previously the building which is right next to the railway station at Corrour, operating as an independent hostel and cafe. Now the hostel will be run in conjunction with nearby Loch Ossian hostel which was given an eco-makeover in 2003 but has limited capacity. The Station House is much bigger and will be able to cater for groups as well as providing a cafe.<\/p>\n
The station house was built in 2000 by Corrour Estate. The SYHA has refurbished the building and the new facilities will include 4 private rooms (incorporating 1 x single, 1 x twin, 1 x double and 1 x 4 bedded), and a licensed caf\u00e9\/restaurant where guests and visitors can enjoy good home-cooked food in a warm and friendly environment.<\/p>\n
For those wanting a quieter and more rustic stay, Loch Ossian hostel, which used to serve as the waiting room for the steamer which would take guests who had arrived by train down the loch to the former Corrour Lodge, will remain open. This cute hostel is situated right on the water’s edge and with one cosy common room heated by a stove, it provides a very atmospheric place to stay. The dry toilets and lack of showers may mean some hostellers will prefer the facilities at the Station House. <\/p>\n
