As well as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/our-pick-16-picturesque-scottish-villages\/0012155\/\">picturesque fishing villages<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/our-pick-scotlands-west-highland-beaches\/0012990\/\">magnificent sandy beaches<\/a>, there is some fantastic cliff scenery, including many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/our-pick-scotlands-great-sea-stacks\/0012781\/\">mighty sea stacks as featured in a previous &#8216;our picks&#8217;<\/a>. Fetlar &#8211; best known to birders as the haunt of the reck-necked phalarope &#8211; has several fine ones. Our pick is this fine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/shetland\/funzie-the-snap.shtml\">arch near the headland of the Snap<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Carsaig Arches, Mull<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/100_6515-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/100_6515-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/100_6515-390x260.jpg 390w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/100_6515-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/100_6515.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps the best known of Scottish sea arches, there are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/mull\/carsaig-arches.shtml\">two very different formations at Carsaig<\/a> on Mull&#8217;s southern coast. The first &#8211; pictured &#8211; is a long tunnel. An airy path climbing above this reveals the second arch which cuts through an almost-detached sea stack topped by a chimney-like basalt column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bullars of Buchan, Aberdeenshire<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF4522-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20503\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF4522-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF4522-390x260.jpg 390w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF4522-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF4522.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The arch in the photo cuts through the islet of Dunbuy, but there&#8217;s another over the entrance to the main blowhole at this dramatic spot on the Aberdeenshire coastline. There is a car park near the Bullars; options for walkers include a fairly short&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/aberdeenshire\/bullers-of-buchan.shtml\">walk from Cruden Bay<\/a>&nbsp;or a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/aberdeenshire\/bullers-boddam.shtml\">walk on from the Bullars to Boddam<\/a>; buses enable a return to be made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kirkabister Ness, Bressay<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF1593-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20505\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF1593-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF1593-390x260.jpg 390w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF1593-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DSCF1593.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just a short ferry hop away from busy Lerwick, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/shetland\/ward-of-bressay.shtml\">Isle of Bressay<\/a> is a world apart.
