1. Start from the green in the heart of Blairgowrie known as the Wellmeadow. To get there from the riverside car park walk uphill past The Antiquary restaurant and then left downhill past shops to the Wellmeadow. There is a war memorial here and a good display of flowers in the summer, there are also toilets and a tourist information on the western side. Leave the Wellmeadow by the top gate and head straight up the main shopping street. At the top bear left into High Street and follow this past a good mix of shops until you reach Newton Street with an SNP office on the far side. Turn right up Newton Street passing a number of pretty houses as you climb.

2. Continue until you reach Newton Terrace, here turn left following the sign, along Adams Bank and then Gallowbank. This is so named because executions used to take place here. The track soon narrows to a path between fields and then turns sharp left at a bench to head downhill to the road. Here turn right and follow the pavement for a short while. Watch out for a sign indicating where you need to turn to cross the road and head down a track on the opposite side of the road. The route passes to the right of some farm buildings and then turns right down a track which soon narrows to become a path.

3. When the path joins a larger path at two imposing pine trees, turn left and continue along a path with hedges providing all sorts of edible delights in the right season. Go through a gate and cross a road and continue on the track on the other side. This soon enters the edge of Ardblair wood. Over a hundred years ago there was a thriving weaving community of about 20 houses at this spot. At the next junction turn right to follow the extension to the Bluebell wood and White Loch. Continue on the track ignoring another track to the right and passing a small barn. The path emerges from the wood and soon reaches a signed wooden gate before a house is reached. Turn right along the fenced path which skirts a number of fields as it wends its way to Bluebell woods.
