The Great Trossachs Path is a 48km route linking Inversnaid on the shores of Loch Lomond to Callander.
The route passes through the heart of the Trossachs, part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It climbs steeply from Inversnaid, and then follows a path across the moors to the north side of Loch Arklet. It then continues to Stronachlachar, and runs along the shores of beautiful Loch Katrine for its full length. It then winds through the forests, passing Loch Achray before reaching the village of Brig o' Turk. It climbs once more to traverse high slopes overlooking Loch Venachar, before descending to eventually join a cycleway for the final approach to Callander.
Although quite short for a long distance route, the Great Trossachs Path is officially classed as one of Scotland's Great Trails.
