1. Start the walk from the car park at Inverfarigaig, where there are toilets and a Forestry Commission information centre. Go past the information centre and climb uphill following the yellow markers. Soon, at a sign for Loch Ness viewpoint turn right and follow the path to the right and a lovely view over Loch Ness with a convenient seat. Sometimes you can see Roe and Sika deer in the woods here. Continue on the meandering path from the seat until reaching the main path and turning right. Ignore the yellow marked path to the left and continue uphill on a track following red markers through pine woodland.

2. At a fork keep to the left and follow the path until you reach another fork with a sign for the shore path to the right. Keep to the left for the hill path and follow the path out onto heather moorland and later woodland following red marker posts. The path twists and turns as it follows the contours of the hill side. It crosses a stream and passes some bog rocks that would make ideal picnic or rest stops with good views over Loch Ness and the open countryside to the South. Eventually you reach a forestry track, turn right and follow this downhill to the main road. At the road turn left, passing the old primary school, and walk uphill to the shop and cafe in Upper Foyers. Opposite the shop take the right hand gate for the Falls of Foyers.

3. The stepped path takes you to two viewpoints and then you backtrack before turning left on a path signed for Lower Foyers. Follow the path and fence as it skirts the spectacular gorge and then goes downhill giving a view of the lower falls. Eventually the path emerges at a gate. Turn left and head downhill passing houses until you reach the road. You can detour to the left to explore the bridges of Lower Foyers. Otherwise turn right onto the road and then take the next left and head slightly downhill. At a hairpin bend go straight on onto a gravel path. The path climbs up to the main road which you follow to just past the old Foyers Hotel (now a private house) to take a path to the left with a blue marker post and sign for Inverfarigaig. The path emerges onto a tarred track, turn right until you reach a path with a blue marker post to the left. Take this path as it follows the loch, with lovely views down through the trees to the water, and eventually emerges at a house and road. Follow the road up to the main road where you turn left and then right to return to the car park.
