1. Park in the first of two car parks on the signed Borgie Forest track which leaves the A836 at NC664585. On the north side of the car park is An Craobh ('the Tree') - an artwork consisting of a spiral pathway between the trees which make up the letters of the Gaelic alphabet. At its centre is a curved stone wall whilst a pathway branches uphill from the spiral to a viewpoint seat. Begin the walk by heading south along the track, and fork left onto a path at the blue marker post.

2. The path is engineered to ease the gradual descent, making several frustratingly wide loops. Turn left onto the red trail at a junction. Soon another path goes off left, initally across a wooden walkway - this is a short detour to visit a bench on the banks of the Borgie. Returning to the main path, it soon visits a picnic table and follows the Borgie itself. Though just seven miles long the Borgie has a reputation as a fine salmon river.

3. Eventually the path leaves the river and heads gently back up to the forest track. Turn right to follow this, soon returning to the start and passing another car park along the way.
