This waymarked walk in the plantations of Fearnoch Forest provides a gentle leg stretcher passing through both coniferous plantations and deciduous woodland.

Park in the signed Fearnoch Forest car park off the A85; there is a parking charge. The route is named the Ant Hill Trail on signs - as the forest is home to Wood Ants - and is waymarked throughout in yellow. Begin along the track.
Almost immediately turn left onto a marked footpath through the conifers. When this emerges on another track, turn left again, then right onto a well-surfaced path.
This eventually emerges onto another track ('The Middle Road'); turn right here (yellow marker). After 150m turn left onto a waymarked path through the trees. After 350m this emerges at another forestry track - turn right here. Follow this track for 500m until a t-junction - now turn right.
Keep straight ahead at a cross tracks, passing a picnic area. Take the yellow waymarked path on the right just beyond. This attractive path runs close by a small burn, crosses it and eventually swings right through more deciduous woodland. When it emerges on a track turn left. At the next junction the outward route is rejoined - keep ahead and then take the next left to retrace your steps all the way back to the car park.
