This enjoyable loop on the Rosneath Peninsula follows the coast from Kilcreggan towards Rosneath Point. It then passes through a caravan park and finally climbs forest tracks with good views to return to the start.

The walk starts from Kilcreggan where there is parking and a bus stop on the front near the ferry terminal. Start by heading along Shore Road towards Rosneath (right as you come off the ferry), then fork right onto Fort Road, passing the health centre. Follow the road as it curves behind an industrial site and heads along the coast.
The road reaches the houses at Portkil. Pass these and when the road bends to the left continue onto a waymarked path just to the right of a farm gate and fence, passing on the shore side of a garden with a white-painted WW2 pill box. Go through a walker's gate, passing the pill box. Soon the path runs along the edge of a field; keep straight ahead at a signpost (ignore the path left). Go through a farm gate and keep on the path at the edge of the field near the shore.
As the coastal path reaches Meikleross Bay it leaves the coast and follows a grassy track inland, soon going through a farm gate. There are good views back across the water. After another farm gate turn right onto a tarmac road. Follow this until a junction and turn left here to follow the back of Culwatty Bay although the sea can't be seen due to the trees.
Follow the lane, ignoring a track off to the left and pass a couple of houses to your left. The end of the lane is reached at a gate leading into Rosneath Castle Caravan Park. The route now goes through the Park by keeping straight ahead from the gate. When a five-way junction is reached bear right on the downhill track towards Castle Point. Now follow the track around, passing the Family Funzone over looking Rosneath Bay and the Gare Loch. Keep right along to follow the shore-side road with the caravans on your left and sea on your right.
Take the 2nd left uphill to reach the reception and shop. Turn right to leave the caravan park and follow the access road. When the B833 is reached after under under 1km turn right, following a pavement with good views across the water.
There is now a short section of verge with no pavement. Continue until opposite the boat yard where you cross the road and take the road on the left to head uphill. After the houses go through the farm gate and continue uphill on the track. Go through another gate into the trees. At a junction turn left and follow the forestry track. Follow this for almost 2km until a parking area, then at the road turn right, with views over Kilcreggan.
Follow this for 500m, passing some houses; after the road has started descending turn sharp left onto Little Aiden Road with a stone wall and field on your right. The road bends right and heads steeply downhill passing houses to emerge at Argyll Road, turn left here. Continue until Temperance Brae, a walkway on the right just after some stone gateposts. Head down here to reach the ferry terminal in Kilcreggan.
