The Hill of Fare is an area of rough moorland rising above forest plantations a few kilometres north of Banchory. This route from the north gives the shortest and quickest ascent route - an out-and-back trip that is well worthwhile for the fine views.

Forest track, then moorland path through heather - muddy in places.
