This beautiful circuit from the Inverawe Country Park begins with a fine riverside stretch before venturing down to the beautiful shores of Loch Etive.

Signs at the locked gate end of the public road (Stage 3) currently state 'No Unauthorised Entry' as well as Private Property - even though this track is an official Argyll & Bute Council Core Path. There is a pedestrian gate alongside and the route is open.

Park in the car park at the Inverawe Country Park, and Sitheag Cafe, down a road which branches from the A85 at the Bridge of Awe - follow signs for the Country Park. Begin the walk by heading down the path signed for Hugo's Lochan and Riverside Walk, to the right of the cafe. The path bends right and passes close to the lochan - used for fishing. Turn left just before reaching it to head across the grassy meadows towards the high footbridge seen to the southwest. The centre of the meadow is often very boggy and it may be easier to keep slightly to the right.
Do not cross the footbridge, instead heading through the gate to its right to reach the River Awe, and walking downstream along the riverside. Eventually the rough track cuts right and leads up to the minor road beside the Inverawe Hydropower station. Turn left and then immediately take the right hand fork to follow the tarred lane that climbs to pass above the power station, then keep left at the next fork.
At the end of the public road a gate with a private property sign is reached (applying to motor traffic). Head through the pedestrian gate alongside and then turn right to follow a track which soon leading to the shores of Loch Etive - at this point turn left along the track beside the loch. There are stunning views up the loch towards Ben Starav and its neighbours.
Continue along the track; soon it nears the outflow of the River Awe into the loch and bends to the left. The track becomes a little overgrown and boggy at one point, where it is easier to walk alongside it just to the right, before it leads back to the gate at the end of the tarmac road used earlier. Go through the gate and simply follow the road back to the Inverawe smokehouse and the start.
