The true Falls of Pattack are somewhat hidden away, but are much more impressive than the better known lower falls near the main road at Feagour. This easy out-and-back walk follows a good track until a final short path leads to the best viewpoint looking over the falls.

Layby on N side of A86 at NN555899 (just east of Gallovie Farm turning).
The walk begins up the track signed for Gallovie Farm from the A86, but there is no parking here - instead park around 70m to the east in the layby on the opposite side of the road. Return to the junction and follow the track, soon crossing a bridge over the River Pattack.
At a junction turn right to keep on the main track. The track leads past a vehicle barrier, then reaches is another junction of tracks - this time turn left, signed again for Gallovie Farm. The track winds uphill through the trees, soon passing the farmhouse and a couple of cottages. Eventually it leads on through a gate; there are blue waymarker arrows.
Look out for a pedestrian gate and sign on the left side, and leave the track to head through the gate. A path leads through dense forestry. Ignore a path off left at a junction and continue ahead. Soon the path curves left and approachs the rim of the gorge carved by the River Pattack, with a view down over the dramatic falls. Take care as the edge is unprotected.
Return to the path junction. You can detour along the branch path to the right for a different persepective on the falls looking up the gorge. To return to the start of the walk, though, it's best to head back the same way.
