I'm looking for advice on walks or walking routes
We provide this website with details about thousands of walking routes. Tens of thousands of people come to Walkhighlands every day to find information about walks - so as you can see we cannot respond to any personal enquiries about walks or visiting. If you have an enquiry about walking in or visiting Scotland, why not post it as a question on our popular Forum; you may receive lots of opinions from our users.
If you are looking for walking guides then you can find them here.
I'm looking for printed brochures about walking in Scotland
Walkhighlands is a free-to-use online source of walking information. We do not provide any printed brochures or information about visiting Scotland through the post.
Try contacting a VisitScotland tourist information centre. They can be contacted on info@visitscotland.com.
I want to book one of your places to stay
We are not an agency and do not take bookings for any of the accommodation listed on Walkhighlands. What we do provide is one of the largest online listings of places to stay. To book any of them, find a property you are interested in on the site and then click on its advert to go through to the properties own website where you should find contact details.
I've forgotten my password
For security reasons we cannot retreive or access your password. You can request a new password to be sent via the login screen.
If you have already tried to log in several times your account will be locked. To unlock your account, try to log-in your username and new password. As your account is locked, you will then be requested to enter your username and password a second time, together with a security code displayed on the screen. If you enter all three then your account will be unlocked and you will not need to enter the security code again. Remember to check for upper and lower case letters!
I want to contact you regarding reviews of outdoor gear
We run monthly reviews of outdoor gear; if you want to know our schedules or to submit gear for review, contact us on walkhighlands@gmail.com
Please note we DO NOT offer links to outdoor retailers or manufacturers, or any other promotion, in return for gear, so do not ask us for this.
I'd like to use one of your photos
The majority of the photos on the walks and area pages are available for licensing for use in newspapers, magazines, websites and other media. Photos in the forum cannot be licensed by us as copyright remains with the poster.
We have no money available / we are a charity. Can we have your photos for free if we credit them?
We receive very many such requests - please do not sent more. We cannot provide our work for free on request. Please see this full explanation.
If you would like to license one or more photos, please email stating clearly which photos you wish to use and for what purpose you intend to license them.

I want to discuss advertising opportunities on Walkhighlands
You can place classified advertisements online by choosing the appropriate advert category on our advertising page. Payments are possible online by credit or debit card, direct debit, bank transfer or Paypal. Please note that adverts are placed only once payment is received, and that unfortunately we cannot take payments over the phone.
Our prices are fixed, but if you want to discuss advertising or ask any questions then you can contact us either by

I wish to contact you regarding moderation on the forum

Walking can be dangerous and all walkers must take personal responsibility for their own safety. You should always carry a backup means of navigation and not rely on a single phone, app or map. Walkhighlands strives to provide accurate information but cannot accept responsibility for changes, errors or omissions.
