Isle of Ulva

Isle of Ulva

Though just a short ferry trip from Mull, like many of the smaller Scottish islands Ulva feels like a place apart, with an atmosphere and feel all of its own. In 2018 the island was bought by the local community and that of northwest Mull. A visit is an essential day out if spending any time on Mull.

With a varied landscape taking in cleared villages, basaltic coastal cliffs, caves, woods and moors, Ulva makes ideal walking country. There are a range of options available, partially waymarked and all indicated on a board in the thatched Shiela's Cottage intepretative centre.
