Beinn an Lochain was a Munro in Sir Hugh's original list, before resurvey revealed it to be well below the 3000' mark. Whatever its status, it is a grand, steep and characterful little mountain that matches up to the rest of the Arrochar Alps.

The ascent given above is much the finest route as well as the most convenient. Avoid attempting to start from the Butterbridge car park - it just leads into a bog.
