The route given above is by far the most straightforward; it is possible but rougher to return around the eastern arm of Toll Ban before rejoining the path. It is also possible to ascend a more challenging scramble route via the Drochaid Coire Roill, Meall Dubh na Drochaid and Stuc Toll nam Biast.
