Beinn Dearg is often ascended via the very steepwest shoulder of Stuc Loch na Cabhaig as described above; the ridge above this leads to the summit. The spectacular east ridge is a scrambling route with three rock tiers; the descent from below this down to the Coire Mhic Nobuil is also steep with hidden terraces.
