Garbh Bheinn is a steep cone on the south side of Loch Leven. Its great bulk robs much of Kinlochleven of winter sunshine.

The route above is used almost invariably; the other sides of the mountain are very steep. For a longer walk, the obvious combination is with Meall Dearg on the Aonach Eagach ridge to the south.
