Goat Fell (or Goatfell, as preferred by locals) is the highest of the Arran mountains and as such is very popular. It is a magnificent summit and linked by wonderful ridges to the other peaks of the range.

Another challenging option is a complete horseshoe around Glen Rosa, beginning with Goatfell and continuing over Cir Mhòr and Beinn Tarsuinn; the Sannox Horseshoe route describes the difficult section from North Goatfell over to Cir Mhor.
