The family run Smiddy Bunkhouse & Blacksmith's Backpackers Hostel are located in a convenient loch side village 4 miles from Fort William at the SW end of the Caledonian Canal. Flexible, self catered accommodation for families, small and larger groups for up to 10 & 14 persons in bunkrooms of 4 or 6 persons, 2 drying rooms, laundry, WiFi, bike and canoe storage. Ideal location with easy access to extensive walking, climbing, biking, canoeing and kayaking. Accommodation at the hostel is in male and female specific dorms, but groups and families have the option of booking a dorm for exclusive use. The hostel has a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, with fridge, and a small shop selling ready meals, a range of snacks, postcards and sundries. Drying is available on two overhead racks and boot stands by the fire - the perfect place to relax after a day on the hills.

We have two floors with basic dormitory/bunk accommodation on the ground floor, with en-suite rooms on the other. Reception is open 24 hours, with no curfew or lockout. Most of our dorms have only 4 beds.
