This walk follows a new path up over the moors above Largs, offering panoramic views back over the town and the islands beyond. It then descends into the deep, richly wooded glen of the Gogo Water.
Mostly excellent hill path; first half of descent into the glen of the Gogo Water is a rougher path.

Bellesdale Avenue, off Flatt Road, Largs.
The walk starts from Bellesdale Avenue, a residential area off the top of Flatt Road in Largs (the car parks are for residents so you need to find considerate street parking nearby). Take the steep tarmac track that forks left, up through the metal gates. This winds uphill to reach various telecomms masts, with good views looking back across the sea to the Cumbraes. Just beyond the mast is a big turning area, and a constructed path forks left off the track - take this path.
The broad path ascends a flight of wooden steps and continues up the hill. It then makes a rising traverse, passing through three gates in deer fences. There are excellent views over the Firth of Clyde, and Knock Hill to the left.
Eventually the path turns sharp right, and crosses the moorland top, bypassing the mast near the summit. There are grand views over Largs, and a welcome wooden seat.
Continue on the path through a gate in another deer fence. The route then descends more broad steps, eventually reaching a hydro track. Turn left along this for around 150m, then turn right onto a track heading down into the glen of the Gogo Water. After about 70m look out for a rough path that heads off right through the tussocky grass, by a concrete water utility marker.
The path is quite rough and eroded but clear to follow, eventually descending into the glen at a gentle angle. Pass through a gate into forestry, then emerge into the beautiful native woodlands lower down the glen. The path leads to a hydro building; pass to the right of this and pick up a track ahead. Ignore paths that fork left off this, instead continuing on the track to a gate. This leads back into Bellesdale Avenue at the start of the walk.
