An Socach is one of three Munros of that name; this one is deep in wild and inaccessible country above the upper part of Loch Mullardoch. It can be reached by following the very rough path along the loch, approached from Glen Strathfarrar to the north or via a very long walk from Killilan in Kintail.

An alternative approach to An Socach is from Killilan in Kintail, via Glen Elchaig. The route is very long but a mountain bike can be used for much of the approach.
For the truly superfit, the massive challenge hereabouts is the complete Mullardoch round, following ridges that can take in up to 12 Munros, usually accomplished as a lightweight backpacking route.
