Although lower than neighbouring Aonach Beag, Aonach Mor derives the 'Mor' tag from its greater bulk, hiding its higher neighbour. It is well seen from the Commando Memorial but this side of the mountain is scarred by ski-developments.

Other routes and challenges
Purists will prefer the route climbing the Aonachs entirely on foot from the road end in Glen Nevis. Less conscientious baggers won't mind riding the Nevis Range gondola up half the height of the mountains on their northern side.
Combining with Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis would make for a truly epic expedition. The Lochaber Traverse adds in the Grey Corries as well - although the ground leading from the Sgurr Choinnich Beag bealach up to Stob Coire Bhealaich is very tricky.
