One of the Arrochar Alps, Ben Vane only just makes Munro status but has great character, with very steep and rocky slopes on all sides. Bealachs with other peaks are very low and Ben Vane is usually climbed on its own.

Continuing from Ben Vane, it is possible to descent very steeply and reascent to reach Beinn Ime and Beinn Narnain; however the terrain between is very rough and much more demanding than the normal routes amongst the Arrochar Alps.
