Meall Ghaordaidh is not a particularly distinguished peak. The usual ascent from Glen Lochay reveals it is a featureless lump. It does look finer from Glen Lyon to the north, supported by two buttresses.

The mountain can also be ascended from the north, crossing a bridge over the River Lyon at NN 512 420 and heading up into Coire Loaghain.
The route can also be extended to cross a bealach at 638m and take in the neighbouring Corbett, Beinn nan Oighreag.
