Sgurr na Ruaidhe

Hear pronunciation Press to hear pronunciation

One of the four Glen Strathfarrar Munros, Sgurr na Ruaidhe is a fairly featureless pudding-shaped hill of spongy mosses. Its redeeming feature is the view east over to the Cromarty and Beauly Firths.

Other routes and challenges

Despite the access restrictions on the route as described from Glen Strathfarrar, the remoteness of the upper reaches of Glen Orrin is enough to discourage most walkers from attemping any ascent from the north - though stalkers' paths from Strathconon may help.
