Summary
The third stage of St Magnus Way begins by the Earl's Palace, and includes a detour to visit Barony Mill. It then leaves the coastline to begin the journey across the heart of the western half of Mainland Orkney. The route involves a fair amount on tarmac, but also some extremely boggy and overgrown sections of track.

Very wet and overgrown initial detour to visit the mill. The route then crosses grassy livestock fields, then mostly minor roads and farm tracks. The route includes two further sections that are very boggy - often waterlogged.
