Summary

This epic day walk combines two of the remotest Munros in Scotland. Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair is the highest mountain in the Fisherfield, a giant cone with much scree, whilst neighbour Beinn Tarsuinn has some stunning rock architecture. This approach from the south gives easy walking initially, becoming ever rougher; there is a faint path up from Lochan Fada to the bealach.

Terrain

Good tracks initially, then rougher paths. Faint path up to col between peaks. Mostly grassy slopes on this side of Beinn Tarsuinn, more scree on Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair. For those using a mountain bike to shorten the approach, cycling is very easy to Heights of Kinlochewe, then a steeper track. More experienced MTB users may get close to Lochan Fada.

Public Transport

Kinlochewe is served by buses from Inverness; 1km walk to reach the start at Incheril.
