Great Mell Fell
Great Mell Fell is a steep and isolated dome that stands guard to the south of the approach into Lakeland along the A66 from Penrith. The summit is the site an of ancient burial mound. In Wainwright's day the fell was a firing range and out of bounds, but no longer.
