This short circular walk a 5,000 year old neolithic burial cairn before continuing down to a fine and quiet beach on Arran's southern coastline. The route then returns via a track to make a short circuit.

The walk begins from a car park adjacent to Kilmory village hall, which is in Lagg at the western end of Kilmory. The walk begins along the left side of the hall along a path signed for 'Torrylinn Cairn'. It soon enters attractive deciduous woodland above the Kilmory Water. Keep left at a fork; the trees soon thin for more open views and the path - locally known as Lover's Lane - continues now by a drystone dyke.
The route passes a bench, then two more benches with a small gate in the wall on the left. Torrylin Cairn is just through the gate. The slabs stand at what was the entrance to a 5,000 year old Neolithic cairn used for burials over a long period. Six adults, a child and a baby were found inside, their bones all mixed together.
Continue down the path until a junction with two pedestrian gates - go through the right hand one to access a field and cross this down to the shore. Another pedestrian gate gives access to the beach, with pebbles and - when the tide is out - extensive and beautiful sands. The granite dome of Ailsa Craig is visible on the horizon.
Turn left along the pebbles at the back of the beach - or along the sand. After 300m there's an outcrop on the left topped with a concrete ruin; turn left up the track leading away from the beach just before this. The track curves right below a cottage, then back left before continuing ahead to reach the main road. Turn left and follow this back to the car park.
