The walk begins from a car park adjacent to the village hall. Follow a signpost reading 'Torrylinn Cairn' to head alongside the hall and into the pleasant, lightly- wooded glen og Kilmory Water. The well-made path leads downhill to merge with another path from the right - continue downstream on a grassy, potentially boggy path as it curves left to skirt a drystane dyke and reach a small burial cairn with accompanying interpretive board.
Beyond this, the path reaches a kissing gate on the right - go through this and walk down through the field towards the shore. Cross a stile and onto the beautiful and quite probably deserted beach. The granite stump of Ailsa Craig, source of Scotland's curling stones, is visible on the horizon, as well as the Ayrshire coastline beyond. Stroll left as far as a concrete wall built into a rocky outcrop, and turn left up an obvious track.
This track eventually reaches the main road alongside the Torrylinn Creamery - home of the award winning Arran Dunlop-style cheese since the 1940s. Turn left and follow the road back to the car park, or catch the bus from the bus stop immediately opposite.
