This stunning walk packs great variety into an entertaining circuit, taking in the beautiful lower reaches of Glen Feshie, the stunning Uath Lochans and lovely Loch Insh.

From the forestry car park near Feshiebridge follow the path that starts near the picnic tables and climbs uphill beneath telegraph poles. When it eventually reaches the road by Feshiebridge itself do not cross the bridge, instead heading across the road onto the track signed as a right of way to Deeside. Pass left of a cottage, continue along a track then fork left through a gate, and then left again (arrow marker) to descend. Pass a shed and keep straight on through a gate, bearing left again to cross a small ford (plank bridge to left).
The next section is an absolute delight, as the path runs up the lower reaches of Glen Feshie, never too far from the beautiful river itself. This is a frequent fishing ground for ospreys in the early summer. Some fallen trees blocked the original trail; simply follow the marked route which detours to the right briefly, crossing a small footbridge.
Eventually the path bears right as waymarked, leading towards the house at Ballintean. Keep to the right to follow the edge of the lawn and head slightly uphill, emerging next to a house at a junction of tracks. Go straight across and follow the track which passes to the left of a bungalow. Keep ahead, passing another house, and continue through the trees. A track joins from the left; soon after this branch right and reach a tarmac road.
Turn right here briefly, then take a left onto a forestry track, passing a vehicle barrier. Keep on the track when it bends right, and ignore the white waymarked path that joins from the right near a boulder. There's a bench with good views across the lovely Uath Lochans. Continue round bends to the left and right, then look out for another path lead off to the right, again waymarked in white - turn onto it this time. It curves round towards the larger trees with good views over the water, before passing a bench and heading into the pines. Eventually it reaches a wider path - part of the Speyside Way. Turn left here, climbing steadily uphill along the track which winds to and fro as it gains height.
The gradient eases and the path passes through an area of older Scots Pines - some 120 years old. Turn right onto a smaller path (red marker), leaving the Speyside Way. The route now climbs more steadily, soon rewarding with increasingly good views between the trees. The path crosses the top of the crags and there are a couple of spots with stunning views over the three lochans and across to the hills rising above the far side of Glen Feshie.
A large rock is reached with a seat and views out over Strathspey. The path bears left soon after this, heading away from the edge of the crag and downhill. Bear right at a t-junction where the Speyside Way comes in from the left, then turn right again at a further t-junction. A straight path continues through the trees; ignore the paths off left. Soon the path heads downhill through a broad gap in the trees. When the main path turns right back into the trees, turn left on a narrower path that leads down to a track. Turn left here and follow the track until just before it joins the B970 road; at the metal barrier before the road turn sharp right onto a narrow and faint path that soon runs parallel to the road.
This section of path is poorly maintained and can be overgrown; it is possible to walk on the road alongside instead. When the page emerges at a gate near a house, bear left to cross the road diagonally, taking a waymarked path into the woods on the far side of an entrance drive. Follow the Badenoch Way signs as the path bears right, then turns left at a junction to descend right to the shores of Loch Insh. Fork right to briefly follow the lochside, then right again to ascend a flight of steps onto a tree-clad ridge. Descend some steps, cross a footbridge and continue ahead, going straight on at a cross roads, to emerge at the road. Turn left along this briefly, before turning left again onto a waymarked path between large houses. The fenced path descends past a play area to reach the Loch Insh outdoor centre. Keep to the right of the Boathouse building towards the road, then turn left the path that runs beside the road.
When the path ends turn right across the road and through the gate opposite, then left to follow the path between the road and a sports field. At the next junction take the second of the two tracks on the right, signed for Feshiebridge. After passing the buildings on the right, but just before a gate, turn right on a grassy track. Keep straight ahead through two farm gates. After another gear bear left on a footpath. Follow this through the trees to pass through a walkers' gate, then keep ahead. Keep ahead when a path joins from the left. Soon the site of the former Frank Bruce Sculpture Park is reached on the right. Back on the route, continue ahead until a path on the left, signed for the car park, leads back to the start.
