An Stac is a fine, steep-sided cone in a magnificent position above Loch Ailort on the west coast. It is usually climbed as part of a round with its higher neighbour Rois-bheinn.

Other routes and challenges
The classic route is the complete horseshoe walk around the ridges from Lochailort as described above. The descent route given could be used to ascend An Stac on its own.
A shorter but much less satisfying alternative is to ascend the three Corbetts from Alisary to the west, involving unpleasant terrain, retracing of steps and deer fences.
