Bac an Eich is in a very remote area though the Strathconon road provides fairly straightforward access. The summit ridge rises steeply above Loch Toll Lochain, with Sgùrr Toll Lochain providing the shortest and steepest route of the ascent. The Walkhighlands route has easier gradients, making best use of stalkers' paths which encircle the peak.

As mentioned already, there is an alternative ascent via Sgùrr Toll Lochain which is shorter but steeper than the route described as a circuit above.

Any combination with An Sìdhean would make an epic route.
