Beinn Dearg Bheag and its near neighbour Beinn Dearg Mor are undoubtably amongst the finest of the Corbetts. The pair require a very long day to reach from any direction, and many people wildcamp or use Shenavall bothy.

Beinn Dearg Mòr and Beinn Dearg Bheag from Gruinard

Other routes and challenges

Beinn Dearg Bheag and Beinn Dearg Mòr are usually climbed as a pair, making one of the most spectacular and challenging Corbett outings; they are also extremely remote.

The other main approach is via Shenavall bothy; this is shorter but involves a great deal more ascent and descent to reach the bothy, and then a serious river crossing.
