A steep, grassy cone, Beinn Odhar is sometimes mistaken for Beinn Dorain at first when driving north from Tyndrum, but it lacks the elegance of that higher peak. It makes a short hillwalk on its own.

A unique traverse of five Corbetts in a single day can be made by extending the route from Cam Chreag by making a long descent and reascent to Beinn a' Chaisteil and Beinn nam Fuaran. Continue as given in that route before returning via the Auch Gleann and the West Highland Way.
