Càrn Mòr (Ladder Hills)

Càrn Mòr is the highest of the Ladder Hills, high above the Braes of Glenlivet. The area was renowned for whisky smuggling, and the whole range is named after the Ladder, an old pass from Glenlivet to Strathdon.

Other routes and challenges

It is possible to start from the ski-center at the top of the Lecht Road, but this involves a long walk along peaty ridges. It could be climbed from the Lecht Mine, or more logically from near the end of the minor road up Glen Nochty to the southeast.
