Faochaig is the less shapely of the two Corbett summits on the north side of Glen Elchaig, the other being Sguman Coinntich. Nevertheless it is a wild mountain with many remote corries.

The above route is the most popular and convenient; the hill could alternatively be combined with Aonach Buidhe - especially if a bike is taken as far as Carnach.
Approaches from other directions are extremely long and remote; one option would use stalkers' paths from Maol-buidhe bothy.
